Witness My Growth is a mix of strong direction, great production value and unique, focused artistry from Slum Village's Elzhi. The first song I heard off of this mix was Boomerang Slang, back in 2004. I didn't decide to cop the album until several years later when I was lucky enough to hear some of Elzhi's newer material with Detroit's Black Milk; I wondered what else El had out there. All in all, I found Witness My Growth to be a dynamic, diverse, meticulously crafted hip hop album that anyone craving a new voice should hear. I can't remember the last time I heard a collection of songs, from any genre, that flowed so well together without losing depth or freshness. Tracklisting and lick after the break.
